HOW IT WORKS
Cocoa Butter: Like many of the other butters we carry, cocoa butter features 3 of the healthy fatty acids: oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. Uniquely, it features them in roughly equal parts and make up 95.7% of the fats in cocoa butter. It's amazingly rich in Omega 6, 9, & 7 and other antioxidants. In practice, this makes it great for anti-aging, healing scars, stretch marks, treatment/preventing chapped or burned skin and lips. It's also an amazing daily moisturizer to prevent dry, itchy skin.
Shea Butter - Grade A Golden Raw, Imported from Ghana, organic, kosher, halal, Non-GMO, sustainably sourced. Shea clinically proven to be one of the single best things you can put on your skin, hair, & nails. {Pronounced *SHAY* Butter} works as moisturizer, anti-inflammatory, heals stretch marks, evens skin tones, has SPF 6, aids skin elasticity & collagen production, reduces the look of cellulite, aids skin healing and repair, supports cuticle health, smells amazing.
Coconut oil - is clinically proven moisturizer for mild to moderate xerosis (dry skin) and was shown in one study to reduce protein loss when used in hair. Promotes healing an immunity, which makes it great for eczema, psoriasis, & dermatitis. Works great as a makeup remover, and facial cleanser. It's the richest natural source of lauric acid.
Aloe - One of the oldest known natural remedies. The first authentic record of Aloe as a plant with healing properties is accredited to a Mesopotamian clay tablet dated at ca 2100 bce. The first detailed depiction of the plant’s medicinal value is found in the Papyrus Ebers, an Egyptian document dated at ca 1550 bce, which sets out multiple Aloe-containing preparations for the treatment of external and internal ailments. Aids nutrient absorption, helps body aches, aids digestion and immunity, stomach acid neutralizer, soothes burns, itching and irritation; anti-bacterial, antioxidants, reduces dental plaque, helps lower blood sugar, hair moisture. FDA approved since 1959 as over the counter burn treatment -it prevents UV-induced suppression so the area can heal at a faster rate. It provides 20 of the 22 human-required amino acids and eight of the eight essential amino acids. Aloe vera contains many vitamins and minerals vital for proper growth and function of all the body’s systems. Aloe vera contains antioxidant vitamins A, C and E — plus vitamin B12, folic acid and choline. It contains eight enzymes, including aliiase, alkaline phosphatase, amylase, bradykinase, carboxypeptidase, catalase, cellulase, lipase and peroxidase. Minerals such as calcium, copper, selenium, chromium, manganese, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc are present in aloe vera.
Red Raspberry Seed Oil - Red Raspberry seed oil: The highest and widest SPF UV protection of any oil. SPF value was found to be 28-50 for UVB rays, and 6.75 – 7.5 for UVA rays. UVB rays are the rays that cause sunburn. UVA rays are what contribute to aging and skin cancer. Packed with carotenoids - strong antioxidants that inhibit UV damage and stimulate cell repair - 23 mg/100 g of oil. Incredibly high natural vitamin E content: Alpha Tocopherol: 12.6mg/100g, Gamma Tocopherol: 19.4mg/100g. It's approximately 52-56% Linoleic acid (omega 6) and Alpha-29-33% linolenic acid (omega 3). Anti-inflammatory properties. Ellagic acid to reduce collagen loss and provide UV protection. Antioxidants phytosterols promote new collagen production, leading to healthier, younger-looking skin. In effect, it's a great moisturizer, improves skin elasticity, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, promotes healthy skin. Because of these properties, low oil yields, singular cold press process, and its popularity its price per ounce tends to be higher than the rent. As Mariah Carey likes to say, "It's festive." Frankly, I think it's worth it.
Cucumber Seed oil - Cucumber seed oil: Incredibly high natural vitamin E content: Alpha Tocopherol: 12.6mg/100g, Gamma Tocopherol: 19.4mg/100g. Anti-inflammatory properties. Cucumber seed oil works as an anthelmintic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, demulcent, diuretic, febrifuge, purgative, & vermifuge. Reduces flakiness and aids in treating inflammatory conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
Hempseed Oil - Hempseed oil comes from the seed of the cannabis plant. It's high in CBD, but has virtually no THC. Therefore it does maintain all of its medicinal properties but won't get you "high." Hempseed oil is a rich and balanced source of omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) & vitamin e. Scientifically proven to treat dermatitis. This is due to it's antimicrobial, conditioning, and immune system support properties. Hempseed oil does not clog pores. Hempseed oil moisturizes the scalp and hair, promotes hair growth, strengthens hair to prevent breakage, & treats dandruff/flakiness.
Olive oil - has a long history of being used as a home remedy for skincare. Egyptians used it alongside beeswax as a cleanser, moisturizer, and antibacterial agent since pharaonic times. In ancient Greece, the substance was used during massage, to prevent sports injuries, relieve muscle fatigue, and eliminate lactic acid buildup.
Grapeseed Oil - contain antioxidants and other biologically active compounds. Polyphenols, vitamin E, flavonoids, linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid), anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-aging, antimicrobial, supports adaptogenic activity (promotes homeostasis and lower stress), helps acne & dermatitis, reduces age spots, heals /prevents sun burn, varicose veins, rheumatoid arthritis, bruising, PMS symptoms, moisture & condition
Isopropyl Myristate - gentle, non-toxic emollient. Works by breaking the surface tension of oils so they and their nutrients absorb more easily. Prevents glide and shine. This is what helps makes oil not feel oily.
Lemongrass - is an invigorating herb packed with the antioxidant flavonoid, plus anti-inflammatory, antifungal, & antibacterial properties. It protects against long-term damage from infections and helps treat insomnia, edema, and rheumatism. Eucalyptus also offers antiseptic/antimicrobial and energizing properties but has the added benefit of working against muscle spasms and is a great decongestant.
Â
Peppermint oil - soothes physical aches & pains, tension, and headaches. Plus it helps regulate digestion on top of smelling great. Lastly, lemon oil helps increase the luster of dull skin, provides more antiseptic/antimicrobial properties, detoxifies, & stimulates circulation. All of that is on top of my Aloe & Shea blend, which is a legend in its own right.
Calendula: A nutrition packed anti-inflammatory, healing powerhouse. One of the strongest anti-viral herbs known to humans. Also, highly anti-bacterial. Packed with flavonoids and other antioxidants. Its flower extracts are also known to soothe muscle spasms, constipation, and as such PMS and PCOS related symptoms. Speeds healing, even in slow healing wounds and ulcers. An animal study saw 90% wound closure (healing) in 8 days with calendula topicals vs 51% closure with the no treatment control. Supports circulation and blood flow to applied areas. Fights gingivitis, bad breath, and improves overall oral health.
Arnica: flowering herb related to calendula and a classic remedy recently finding new life in modern herbal remedies. Lauded for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, topical analgesic. Found often in blends for bruising, arthritis relief, muscle soreness, scrapes, dandruff, sore throats, & eczema. Today, it's primarily used for ointments, creams, gels and other external applications. Great for post-surgery care.
