Back in 2020 we introduced The HookUp a low-income discount program available to anyone in the US or Canada who is already receiving government benefits (food, housing, medical, disability) or just made $15/hr or less. When we moved websites & switched to the Black Friday Forever pricing model in Nov 2023 - Jan 2024 we had to shut it down temporarily to make sure money was working properly.

Well, you've held up your end of the bargain - you promote The Butters, we keep prices low. Now, I'm happy to announce we can officially bring back the HookUp with an even bigger discount! Plus the list of people eligible has expanded. Here's the entire list and what info we need to verify:

Eligibility

• Anyone making $16/hr or less - Most recent checkstub showing your rate or hours & income that calculates the rate.
• Anyone recieving government benefits through any programs including but not limited to EBT, Section 8, SSI, WIC, Lunch Discount Program, Medicaid/care, Busfare Discount Cards, etc - An ID card with your name. If no name is on it, include your ID.
• Teachers - Your ID
• Students (k-12 & higher or continued education), GED, & JobCorps - Your ID
• Military - Your ID
• Sex Workers - Reach out and talk to us. A link to your content/work pages, if possible.
• Social Workers - Your ID
• Vulnerable Youth - Reach out and talk to us.
• Unhoused folks - Reach out and talk to us.
• Prisoners (former & current) - ID, Release Papers, sterotypical visitation photos like the ones I took with my dad. You can be creative here.
• Poll workers for elections - Your most recent paystub, a photo of you at work, proof of training, or proof of commitement to future elections.
• Groups and organizations. We will examine these one by one to make sure it's doing things we support. - Reach out and talk to us.

For all verification stuff, it's ok to block out sensitive numbers. All we need is your name, expiration date (if available), and the agency or insitution issuing it. Once we look it over, we'll delete the emails immediately.

FAQ

How much is the discount?

We have never disclosed. But it's bigger than any sale we've ever had. It has no minimums or exclusions.

Q: How does it work?

A: Once approved, we'll put a tag on your account that gives you access to special pricing sitewide. You have to be signed in to your account to acces the discount.

Q: Can I resell what I purchase?

A: Yes. You are allowed to resell items purchased through this method. If you're enterprising enough to make some money this way, we support. Let us know if we can help!

Q: Do I have to recertify?

A: While you did originally, your access will last indefinitely. If you feel like you've grown out of the need, let us know. But nearly 10 years into being a small business owner, ya boi could still you
